Second season opens on September 25, 2003 with the episode entitled ‘The Bus’. Season opens with a school bus which has been kidnapped and the abductors demand a big amount as ransom. Other stories of this season are: A priest disappears and case-investigation leads Jack to think, that the man may be involved in wrongdoings. A lady, who’s supposed to run a confidence scheme, disappears and the team is set to investigate the case. Samantha has a gunshot wound and while she is recovering the rest of the team investigates the disappearance of a 14 year old violinist. Missing Persons’ squad is on the mission to find out who is behind the High School sex scandal and why. Then, the team investigates the case of a doctor who disappears and investigation reveals the fact that she recently had a miscarriage. Team tries to locate a missing criminal defense attorney. During the investigation of another case, they come to know that the man is not who he claims to be. Eric Miller goes missing and clues point out that he has been abducted. A young soldier returns from Iraq disappears and the investigation unravels some secrets about his past.

A woman goes missing and the team questions her boy friend to determine the reasons behind her disappearance. A college football coach goes missing after being fired and the team digs in the case, to locate him. When season comes to an end, Jack declares his plans to move to Chicago along with his family. It gives Vivian a chance to shine by getting promoted to his post. But at the last moment, Jack’s wife leaves and also takes their daughters with her, leaving him alone. Season finale ‘Bait’ was aired on May 20, 2004.
